Al contrario, incluyeron "Surf Up"!? WTF!!! Otras omisiones:

* La rumana "4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days", la francesa "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", y la spañola "El Orfanato", ignoradas en la categoria de Pelicula Extranjera.
* "Into the Wild" con solo dos nominaciones. Ni sikieran los sindicatos de actores y de directores le ayudaron.
* Hablando de ITW, donde sta Eddie Vedder! Y Shakira!!! Los dos sonaban fuertes para Mejor Cancion Original y nada.
* Ignoran a Helena Bonham Carter, Angelina Jolie, y a Amy Adams =(

En fin, las grandes nominadas fueron "There Will Be Blood" y "No Country For Old Men", ambas con 8 nominaciones.

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen added another potential award to their growing pile as the two siblings received a Directors Guild of America nomination for their gritty thriller No Country for Old Men; it marks the first time ever a sibling team has been nominated for the DGA Award. While Joel Coen received a previous DGA nod for Fargo in 1997, the other directors up for the award were all first-time nominees: Paul Thomas Anderson for There Will Be Blood, Tony Gilroy for Michael Clayton, Sean Penn for Into the Wild, and Julian Schnabel for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Nominees for the DGA's television awards are expected to be announced on Thursday, and the awards will be given out on Saturday, January 26th.

Golden Globes CANCELADOS!!!

Golden Globes Ceremony, Parties Canceled
Attempts to save the Golden Globes ceremonies devolved quickly Monday evening as the famed broadcast was reduced from a three-hour gala to a one-hour press conference -- most likely with no stars, no parties and WGA pickets. A complicated story continued to unfold late into the evening yesterday as NBC, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions desperately tried to keep the Golden Globes broadcast afloat in the wake of the two-and-a-half-month strike by the Writers Guild of America. After extensive negotiations, NBC came up with a plan to shorten Sunday's ceremony to a one-hour news special (circumventing the WGA strike, which does not affect NBC News), in hopes that it could utilize red carpet and after-party footage to supplement the evening's coverage both before and after the announcement of the awards. Thus, the network and the Globes could save millions of dollars in advertising revenue and lure numerous celebrities and nominees, especially in light of a recent statement released by the Screen Actors Guild that none of the 70+ acting nominees would attend the ceremony if it went forward as originally planned.

Though the WGA initially agreed not to picket the press conference format, negotiations quickly broke down over NBC's suggestions for additional news coverage of the awards that would include nominee interviews, clips from nominated films, and coverage of the Golden Globes studio-sponsored parties. While the news conference is expected to go on as planned, airing Sunday night at 9pm ET, NBC's other programming was still in question, and more crucially, many of the large-scale parties were canceled as news broke throughout Hollywood. NBC Universal, Warner Bros. and HBO officially cancled their parties, and according to Variety it was expected that Fox Searchlight and the Weinstein Company would follow suit -- thus insuring few if any celebrities would be in attendance of any kind for the Golden Globes. Adding insult to injury, the Writers Guild may still picket the Globes news conference, with the Screen Actors Guild expected to show support by encouraging members not to attend. An official statement from the WGA was not available at press time.

NOOOO!!!!! Y ahora, kien podra salvarnos? :'(

Golden Globes: It's official. Actors won't show

NBC is maintaining that the show will go on January 13, but it looks like the Golden Globes will feature few, if any, of the movie and TV stars that make it worth watching. The major public relations firms that promote Hollywood's elite are releasing the following statement:

"We represent the vast majority of the 2008 Golden Globe nominees and many of the actors who have been invited to appear as presenters on the Jan. 13 broadcast. After much discussion by our clients, we have concluded unanimously that the actors we represent WILL NOT cross the picket line out of respect for the WGA membership. Our clients are extremely grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press and would love the opportunity to be recognized for their work but will only do so in the event that NBC and Dick Clark Productions reach an interim agreement with the WGA for the Golden Globes."

It is signed by companies 42 West, BWR, IDPR, Imagine Management, Patricola Lust, PMK/HBH, Seltzer and Associations, Stan Rosenfeld PR and True Public Relations.

Given this development, it seems doubtful that NBC will broadcast the Globes, but stranger things have happened: During the 1980 actors' strike, NBC aired the 32nd annual Emmys with just one winner present: Powers Boothe.

NBC insists it still intends to broadcast the Globes, and that means the WGA still intends to picket. "We have no indication that Golden Globes will not be televised," said WGA spokesperson Jeffery Hermanson. "We are proceeding with our plans to picket, and we expect a large number of writers and many actors to be on the picket lines outside the Beverly Hilton on January 13."
